A warm welcome to Te Aro School.

We are a vibrant multicultural full primary school (Years 0 – 8) located in the heart of Wellington city. We celebrate the cultural diversity of our school community. As a Kura, we are committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and use it to guide our practices. We continue to grow in our knowledge and understanding of our local and national history to uphold this commitment. Our long-term aspiration is to see te reo Māori normalised in our school, our homes, and our community. We believe that it is our responsibility to actively contribute to revitalising Māori language and culture in Aotearoa. We know that this will enhance the well-being and self-esteem of not only our Māori learners but all of our community. Here at Te Aro School we place an emphasis on developing the whole child through a broad curriculum.
